Too Much Hype?

Ever since the start of this years auditions The X-Factor contestants have been in News Papers across the Country almost everyday, From Gamu not being put through to the live shows, to the truth about her facing deportation.

From Cher Lloyds audition to her break down at the Judge's House's stage of the competition, her weight, her family, her diva like behavour and her alleged fued with fellow contestant Katie not to mention the alleged love intrests with wait for it ... FOUR of the male contestants; Aiden, Liam, Harry and Zain .. Cher has been on the cover of papers and magazine for weeks, it makes it hard to know whats actually true any more.

This Years contestants have had more coverage than any contestants in previous years, one of the most controversial moments happened when Cher Lloyd and Katie Waisell were both chosen by mentor Cheryl Cole to go through to the Live Stages of the competition ahead of Gamu Nhengu who gave a flawless preformance, while Katie and Cher both failed to deliever. Cheryl Cole went from tihe 'Nations Sweetheart' to someone who was hated by alot of the country. The fact is that with a show like the X-Factor people are bound to have there opinions but at the end of the day it is a reality show its not the end of the world and it was a lot of fuss over nothing.

Another example of how rediculous the show has become is the campaign to get Wagner Carrilho to win the show, even radio 1 dj Chris Moyles has announced his is backing the Brazilian to win the show, there is a campaign on Facebook which already has 13000 fans and with the backing of Chris theres no reason he shouldn't make it to the final. I know people find it funny and entertaining to see him perform but it should get to a point where the gimic acts have to leave because it turns into a real comptition but it doesn't look as though thats going to happen.

The X-Factor does have a load of fans, an example of this is the amount of songs that have re-entered the charts as a result of them being sung by an X-Factor contestant and also the sucess of Cheryl Cole's single Promise This after she preformed it on the show.

Because there are so many fans there is bound to be controversy and disagreement but i'm beginnning to wonder, has it got to a point where is all to much and its no longer about the singer, if enough people want the show to be ruined then it will be ruined, people will print what they want in magazines and the majority of the public will believe that, whether it be true or not so it appears to me that the show can now long be about what it set out to be about.
